[Amaya's taking a good look at the menu as well, though she pauses at the question a little.]
Oh, I am not...terribly picky, truthfully. [...] The vegetable dishes do sound promising, however. I've never heard of a...Cobb Salad, before? It seems to have a little bit of everything you could possibly want.
[Seriously, vegetables, egg, meat, cheese? All the essentials right there.]
Omelettes...yes, I understand what you speak of, now. They are quite common and easy to make, where I come from; so long as you can procure some eggs and ingredients, you can make any sort that you need to get through the day.
...What was this neighbor of yours like, if you do not mind my asking?
[(Completely understandable. Canon give us answers please--)]
Ah, that's...wonderful, I think. [...It almost sounds like a foreign concept, but--] That you would have someone like that to help raise you so kindly...that is a lovely thing, all be told. I've...
Never met my extended family, but I have always been told that it is to be valued. That blood is thicker than water, and thus, the bonds of family are always quite strong.
[...Oh, this might be a bad subject, actually, Amaya's gaze averts. Where is their food--]
...Pay me no mind, my child. It is...simply a rather different experience from mine.
...That is true. One might even call it the beauty, of our multitude of worlds and experiences; no two are truly ever the same, and yet we can still talk despite it.
[Ah, there's their food! Amaya will gladly go get it for the both of them, putting Nozomi's eggs on the table first and then settling down with her own as she pauses.]
...In truth, I sort of envy your experience. I only ever knew my father, and the less said of that man, the better.
[Amaya considers that for a moment. She...really cannot feel friendship, if she's being entirely honest with herself; most of her connections are one sided and both parties know that, but...]
Well...for starters, there is my dear retainer, Aneirin; he's a very kind, if a touch vain man. A jovial sort who loves to get to know others and worry over them. He's sort of like a hen in that way; wanting to bring out the best in others and being more than willing to be fussy about it. But you had best believe that he will always see to one's care, one way or another.
...I would not trade him for the world. He's most of the reason I'm able to take care of Fefello Caelum so well; he's so much better with people than I am.
...Thank you. [Amaya's gaze averts, a little embarrassed?] In truth, he's...the only reason I ascended to become Fefello Caelum's leader as a whole. His kindness, his loving heart...it knows no peer, even if I struggle to emulate it's example.
It is thanks to him that I've met Princess Maribell of Pravitas and many others too...the princess, however...goodness. [Amaya sighs a bit, eating slowly--particularly when she chews on her left side.] She sort of strong-armed me into friendship, all be told, but she's...a hedonist, through and through. So very kind despite it all--cheerful, and bright. Always so loving and caring and ready to drag someone into an adventure of some sorts.
...I wouldn't trade her for the world either, even if she is a touch overwhelming.
...That's not something I ever considered before. I...thank you.
[The surprise is actually genuine; it's not a perspective that Amaya's considered before. She's always been so fixated on doing things right, that the idea of trying isn't enough. She had to succeed, but...
Maybe there's something to those words.]
Oh, certainly not. The woman's loud enough to alert the entire town whenever she moves, and she's much like a storm...a force of nature that will uproot all in her path.
But only in the most affectionate of manners. She tends to think of the most...interesting traveling ventures, whenever she sets her mind to it. I wager it's at least half of the reason her mother, the Queen, is so exasperated with her often.
Oh- um, it's nothing you have to thank me for. [Because she has to believe that trying to make a difference matters. Success or failure isn't fully under her control, but trying is, and she hopes her trying means anything.
Nozomi giggles at the thought of such a loud and affectionate personality.]
...It's merely not something I've heard before. Apologies, I...
[Amaya shakes her head, taking another slow bite of salad.]
Pay me no mind. She is wonderful, I think. She's at least simply...energetic enough to ensure I do not have my nose stuck in paperwork all of the time.
W0: Wednesday
Hmm... What do you think sounds good?
[ It's still so strange that the food simply arrives in front of them, but nothing about this place seems normal.
Sometimes you have to adjust to whatever is the new normal. ]

[ But she's not quite sure she wants to eat all of that in one sitting. ]
Maybe I'll go for the rolled eggs. Something simple and easy to eat.
no subject
[Now they just have to wait for their orders, but...]
...Rolled eggs? I do not believe I have heard of such a dish, though I am familiar with eggs as a whole. Quite essential in one's diet.
Are they a dish you like?
no subject
It's sort of like... a rolled omelette but without any fillings inside.

[ (I sure wish Hundred Line would tell me things.) ]
She was really nice to me. She looked after me whenever my mother was busy at work.

N-no, it's okay. Everybody's had a different experience with family, right? There's nothing wrong with that.
... I guess everybody's had a different experience with everything. Nobody has the same life as anyone else.

[For getting the food, she does appreciate it.
Family seems like a difficult subject for both of them, so she'll move it aside for now.]
Hm... what are your friends like?

She sounds like somebody with a big personality. I can't imagine it's boring being with her.

[ Because they might get stuck in apology loop here and she can sense it coming. ]
Everybody needs a little bit of fresh air now and again.
